My August post told you to record the screen and convert the file to a GIF. You don't need that step here.
You ask Claude Code for a Python script. The script draws every frame, and a free tool called ffmpeg saves them as an MP4.
Then the editing happens in plain words. You send a note, Claude Code changes the script, and the file renders again.
What you need first
Claude Code comes with the Pro and Max plans. The script also needs Python, Pillow (a drawing library) and ffmpeg on your computer. Pillow and ffmpeg are installs, so do them before you paste anything.
Check them: paste this into your terminal (or ask Claude Code). Four version numbers back means you are ready:
python3 --version
python3 -c "import PIL; print(PIL.__version__)"
ffmpeg -version
ffprobe -version
The two prompts I tested
Prompt 1: make it
Write a Python script that makes a video. Pillow draws every frame at 1080x1350. ffmpeg turns the frames into an MP4: H.264, yuv420p, 30 fps, 5 seconds.
What moves: [describe it]. Words on screen, exactly: [your words]. Every word stays readable in every frame, never overlapping another. Add no other words or numbers.
Run it. Check with ffprobe that it is at least 3 seconds, 75 KB and 192 Kbps. If it is under 75 KB or 192 Kbps, raise the bitrate and run it again.
Fill the two slots: what moves, and the exact words on screen.
↳ In my run, only those words appeared.
Receipt: a bar race, four bars swapping places. Claude Code wrote a 192-line script and rendered 150 frames, 5 seconds long.
The first file came in under LinkedIn's 192 Kbps floor. The check line made Claude Code try again, and the third file passed.
Prompt 2: give it a note
Note: make the bars blue. Change only that. Run it again and repeat the ffprobe check.
The whole edit: Claude Code changed four color values and touched nothing else.
Same motion, same words, blue bars, and it passed the check on the first run.
That is the loop: a note becomes a new render.
No timeline, no re-recording.
Check the file before you post
LinkedIn's video help page sets the floors your file has to clear:
- Size: at least 75 KB
- Length: at least 3 seconds from desktop
- Bitrate: 192 Kbps to 30 Mbps
I have not uploaded this test file yet. ffprobe shows it sits inside those limits, and that is all it shows.
Tested once: on my Mac mini, with every tool already installed. Windows and the Claude app in a browser are untested.
